On April 4, 2024, in Conakry, the Prime Minister and Head of Government of Guinea met with a delegation of Sri Lankan investors at the Colombo Palace. The meeting, which took place in the presence of members of the Prime Minister’s cabinet, was facilitated by Mr. Anuruddah Shanaka, the Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka.
The purpose of the meeting was for Sri  Lankan investors to explore potential investment opportunities in various sectors of Guinea’s economy, including tourism, infrastructure, industry, and trade. Dr. Asela Wickramasinghe, an economic operator from Sri Lanka who was part of the delegation, expressed their interest in investing in Guinea after the meeting. He highlighted the perceived need for investors in Guinea and indicated their willingness to cooperate with the Guinean government to explore and pursue these investment opportunities.
This initiative reflects a potential collaboration between Sri Lanka and Guinea in economic development, where Sri Lankan investors are looking to contribute to Guinea’s growth and development by investing in key sectors of the economy.
